The history of the house
La Maison d’ANTHOUARD was built at the very beginning of the 17th century.
It is known to have been a former hunting lodge of Henri IV.
This building was also owned by General Charles Nicolas d’Anthouard de Vraincourt, Count of the Empire, Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor, Commander of the Order of the Iron Crown, and Knight of Saint Louis. He served as a Deputy for Meuse and a Peer of France (1773-1852).
He took part in the wars of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.
His name is engraved on the Arc de Triomphe "21st Colonnes D’ANTHOUARD."
La Maison d’ANTHOUARD is protected as a Historic Monument, with partial registration of its facades, roof, and staircase with its decoration (decree of February 7, 1975).
